Property Profile: Melbourne Converted Mattress Factory

Here is one for the Shabby Chic Lovers.  This character filled Vintage inspired abode used to be a rundown Mattress Factory and has been lovingly restored to become a veritable ‘Shabby Chic Romantic Rustic meets Rococo French Country’ retreat.  Take a tour with these images and you will be instantly transported into the pages of a Rachel Ashwell Coffee Table Book.  Love or Hate Shabby Chic – this is how you do it well x

50’s Pastel Perfection: Kitchen Love

I really love this Kitchen.  Inspired by the 50’s  – it is Pastel Retro meets Industrial Cool.  It makes fantastic use of a limited and awkward space.  The perfect blend of form + function.  Check out the fantastic blogger whom it belongs to at Sukkertoy for Oyet

Okay so not strictly a colour as such but it’s my blog & I’m allowed to take a little creative license.  Traditionally I suppose the pastel pallete suits the shabby chic genre but I think a pop of spearmint, duck egg blue, lemon or palest pink can bring softness & interest to an otherwise more stark, industrial look.  I adore the use of some sorbet to work some whimsy into a room.  Here are few ways to make these candyfloss hues look sweet but not sickly.
